    Required qualifications include:


    • bullet Minimum of two years' experience in a manufacturing or oilfield fabrication setting.

    • bullet 3rd Year Apprentice status or Red Seal.

      CWB certified.

    • bullet
      Fitting capabilities and the ability to read drawings would be beneficial but not required

Position Title: Purchaser

Position Reports To:           COO


Description:
Reporting to the COO, the Purchaser is responsible for buying goods/materials, supplies and services from Dahlson-approved suppliers, ensuring that they are of the quantity, quality, price and availability required by Dahlson.



    Required qualifications include:


    • bullet Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment along with experience in the oil and gas sector

    • bullet Intermediate level computer skills in Word, Excel

    • bullet
      Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

    • bullet
      Effective negotiation skills when dealing with vendors/suppliers

    • bullet
      Strong organizational and time management skills

    • bullet
      Effective team player with a high level of initiative and integrity

      • bullet Effective problem solving skills with the ability to "quickly think on the feet" to resolve problems using a practical, common sense approach

        Dependability and reliability; demonstration of regular and punctual attendance

      Responsibilities will include:


    • bullet
      Use the Bill of Material to manage the purchasing and logistics of materials required for each specific project/job.

    • bullet Develop and conduct supplier evaluations (performance management strategies) to ensure effective supply chain management process and efficiencies in the quality management process.

    • bullet Participate in the recommendation and implementation of approved purchasing policies and procedures.

    • bullet Manage purchase requisitions or quotes on materials to ensure appropriate decisions are made regarding choice of suppliers; obtain purchase order numbers; ensure suppliers and purchase order requirements meet the standards as established by API.

    bullet Work closely with Shipper/Receiver regarding the logistics and processes supporting the purchasing function.

  • bullet Work closely with manufacturing/shop floor regarding the production schedules to ensure the appropriate flow of materials, parts, and assemblies.

  • bullet Develop and maintain a master inventory binder/database, and maintain an accurate count of all inventories including steel; ensure surplus materials, if any, are accounted for in inventory count.

  • bullet Follow all required Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures including WHMIS procedures, and the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, steel toed boots)

  • bullet Adhere to quality procedures and work instructions, and actively participate in the quality improvement process.

Working Conditions:


  • bullet Primarily indoor industrial work setting

  • bullet Overtime may be required

B-Pressure Welders



Required qualifications include:


    • bullet A minimum of 1 year experience working as a welder/journeyman

    • bullet Valid B-Pressure ticket required

    • bullet Valid MIG Root ticket required

    • bullet Valid 6010 Root ticket would be an asset

    • bullet A strong understanding of piping processes

    • bullet Fitting capabilities and the ability to read spool drawings would be beneficial but not required

    • bullet Ability to work as a team player as well as independently

    • bullet Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

    • bullet Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

    • bullet The ability to work well under pressure

Steel Fabricators & Fitters



Required qualifications include:


  • bullet Study engineering drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and plan the sequence of tasks

  • bulletLay out reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications
  • Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite

  • bullet Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units using TAC welding

  • bullet Install fabricated components in final product

  • bullet Some MIG welding may be required depending on experience

  • bullet A minimum of 3 years experience working as a fabricator and/or fitter

  • bullet Ability to work as a team player as well as independently

  • bullet Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • bullet Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • bullet The ability to work well under pressure
